Nearly Two Months

Surprise - thought I'd post again as we approach Braeden's 2-month-old birthday on Tuesday. This is Braeden's new home. Future posts will be written from Braeden's point of view - as far as I'll be able to tell.

I know, where does the time go?He's doing great, growing like a weed - 12 pounds, 24 inches (approximately), sleeping 6 hours at night now. His hair is what cracks us up, and gets plenty of comments from people we see on our outings. It's dark brown with a bit of a wave to it, very long and continuing to grow (it goes over the tips of his ears now), and goes in absolutely every direction possible, standing straight up in the front. A neighbor asked me just this morning if we were "spiking" his hair - nope, it does that all on its own. He's a great little guy - he still only cries when he's hungry, needs a diaper change, or has gas. He was a bit fussy last week, but those few days were it.

He loves his bath. We had to move from the bathroom sink to the baby bathtub due to a size problem - he wouldn't fit anymore. His swing is his favorite thing - he can take or leave the bouncer. He also loves tummy time, smiling when he rolls over onto his back, not too impressed when I roll him onto his tummy again. But that's ok, he rolls onto his back again pretty quickly..hehe. As long as he does his head exercises first, I'm a pushover, and let him keep doing it until he gets bored.

Aunt Y. came for a visit earlier this week. She brought us the last of the breast milk, and returned the pump to us (we rented it from the hospital). What an wonderful lady. To pump at no charge at all was the best gift she could have given us. She told us she'd do it for 6 weeks, ended up doing it for 8 weeks. She and I were both in tears before she left. While we know we're going to have plenty of future contact, this was kind of like the real end of our surrogacy journey. She was very happy to see Braeden doing so well, and we're already planning a visit to the IVF clinic where it all started after the holidays, so the staff and doctors there can meet the little man who all their efforts blessed us with.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and I'll post from time to time with more updates.
